September Adventures

Jon and I had a fun date to a ropes course near our house. I was nervous about it, but it was a lot of fun and we were both able to do everything! Those big rope nets are HARD to climb and it gave me new respect for ninjas!

Speaking of ninjas, Jacob joined the newly-formed Saratoga Ninja Garage Team and has spent some time training at the Saratoga Ninja Garage (SNG) this month.  He has LOVED it! Especially the warped wall. We aren't sure if we'll bring him to any competitions so he might not be able to stay on the team, but for now he is loving the practices even though they are sporadic. His cubmaster has a son that has been going to the SNG as well and he built a ninja course for their most recent pack meeting!

Jon planned his first camp out with the scouts in our ward. They camped near the Adirondack Balloon Festival and got up really early to see the balloons launch from a small airport runway.

Later that day (poor Jon was exhausted!) we went to Six Flags with the Dinkel and Rahmani families. The Rahmanis had done an amusement park in Kabul and they were so excited to go to one here! Jon was driving with the boys and he said they cheered when the roller coasters came into view. They all really liked the bumper cars and some of them were brave enough to try one of the biggest roller coasters. Faisal (the oldest boy) said it was really scary and didn't want to do more, but one of the younger boys loved it! Lots of fun!
