On July 4th we watched the Clifton Park parade then had a wonderful evening with some families from our ward. The kids got to play on a zip line, ride a horse, set of fireworks, and more! We all had so much fun and Megan told me it was the best 4th of July ever. Jacob absolutely loved setting off his own little fireworks, and I even lit a big one for the first time!
We FINALLY closed on our house on July 8th! We cleaned and celebrated my birthday before our stuff arrived on July 11th, then we had 4 days to unpack some and enjoy our house before we headed to Utah/Idaho for family time!
We spend a weekend in Utah with Tim and Penny, Kim and Chuck, and Kevin and Katelyn. We enjoyed playing with Aria and Owen, giant bubbles, water balloons, Draper Days, and great company!
Then we headed to St. Anthony and Three Peaks Lodge for our Call Reunion! It was so much fun this year. Jacob spend most of his time catching minnows in the stream and pond. Katie and Livvy loved playing together, and Megan had a great time with all her cousins and being in our Cousin Cupcake Wars! The kids also enjoyed Ancestor Bingo, a night hearing stories and songs with Grandpa, and a night dancing to Grandma's violin. It was hard to leave this year knowing we won't see most of our family until Frosty's wedding here in NY next summer!
Our flight home was an adventure with delayed and cancelled flights and a night in the Chicago Airport sleeping on cots. But the kids did great and we came away with lots of Southwest travel credit so we are happy!
We loved getting a visit from Frosty and Margaret on their way to Margaret's camp in the Adirondacks. Bliss loved our backyard and we all enjoyed a walk through Kinns Road Park.
We found a couple toads in our yard!
Megan had a Stake Activity Day party in Greenwich so Jon and Jacob and Katie and I spend the day at Moreau Lake fishing and kayaking then we all picked blueberries at Winnie's Farm. Yum! Jon was excited to buy a live lobster on the way home for our dinner. It's fun being close-ish to the ocean so we can get fresh seafood!
Whew! What a month! It is now good to be home and settling in for real. We've had the missionaries over for dinner and friends over for games and we are getting pictures on walls and boxes unpacked. We are loving our home, our ward, and our neighborhood, and Jon is really liking his new job. We are happy to be in New York and looking forward to what is to come!
